The HDGM’s impression of the 18th century era is particularly complex.

There is a group of civilians who represent different social classes, from craftsmen to shopkeepers to fine ladies and gentlemen of higher society.

Some of the members chose the American continent as the location. Both the times of the “French and Indian War” and the “American Revolution” are depicted here.

There is also a section of Ansbach-Bayreuth infantry that chose the time around 1777 when these Germans were hired out to America to fight against the insurgents on the English side.

Of course, everyday historical life is recreated in all of these groups. The costumes and equipment are reconstructed with great attention to detail based on originals.
